*sigh* If only... |
If there was ever a season 2 of Almost Human, there would be certain things: character story lines and mysteries we would encounter. This is just guess work. I'm an aspiring writer so sometimes (SOMETIMES) I can predict what happens next in a story (mostly TV) and sometimes (again SOMETIMES) those predictions come true which is why sometimes people ask me for my predictions.
In the case of Valerie Stahl's background being explored, given the little bits we were given in minor mentions I can guess her background goes like this:
1.) She comes from wealth but her father embezzled some money so he's either in prison (or not most likely) or like a white collar criminal, Stahl's father escaped justice.
2.) Valerie never felt like she fit in with the other Chromes. Valerie doesn't like to talk about her past or associate herself with other Chromes who she finds obnoxious. It also seems that Chromes don't care much for her either given her career choice.
3.) Valerie could be some way involved whether directly or indirectly with InSyndicate. I saw the shocked look on her face in the Pilot when she first saw John walking into the precinct. She looked beyond surprised. More shock actually. So she could have done something that led to the ambush of John 2 years ago.
Speaking of InSyndicate I think they're not just a criminal organization. InSyndicate would have been more involved had there been a Season 2:
1.) InSyndicate could have been people from over the Wall trying to bring it down. This would make them a "Resistance-type" of group.
2.) InSyndicate could be the one implanting Dorian with human memories. It could have been an experiment to see if they could make androids human in some way for what? No ideas come to mind just yet but usually there's the King Pin who controls everything. Someone with vast intelligence and a huge ego. That King Pin could have some personal agenda like wanting immortality (a classic motivation) but being inside an android.
3.) Dr. Vaughn could be involved with InSyndicate. He wants to keep working on his projects and InSyndicate most likely would have given him financial support.
Dr. Vaughn is a mystery. Certainly he's a Frankenstein doctor who has some hidden agenda:
1.) Vaughn felt betrayed by society and is a bitter old man for sure. He could be working to build an army of Danicas or DRNs or other androids so he can make war on someone. Again this is where I think he's involved with InSyndicate.
2.) We would have definitely seen Vaughn again. He probably would have tried to reach out to Dorian if he returned as he perhaps considers Dorian the son he never had. Vaughn would probably try to convince Dorian to join him but Dorian would refuse.
3.) Vaughn would have died either by John or Dorian or by InSyndicate.
Anna certainly is an elusive woman. Predictions:
1.) Anna would resurface and reach out to John.
2.) Anna may have been forced to kill John.
3.) Anna is from over the Wall and has joined InSyndicate because she wants to bring the Wall down.
4.) Either Anna would have disappeared again or she would have died in John's arms.
5.) Seeing Anna again would have definitely made him obsessive (more than usual) making him defy the law out right. Also if Dorian tried to stop him, John would have done something mean (trapping Dorian somehow) which would have repercussions later and really test their partnership.
We didn't get much into John's family. I think it would have been nice to see if John had any siblings. If he did a few scenarios would be:
1. He has a sister who may be expecting a kid.
2. He has a brother who he fights with.
The Wall we may never know what's behind it but I have some idea as to why the city put it up in the first place:
1.) A deadly virus may have infected the populace.
2.) Some terrible natural event happened.
3.) Crime war erupted.
4.) War itself may have had something to do with it.
With Chromes I saw definite conflict there not just with Stahl but with John as well. Chromes are elitist and John hates people who think they can get away with a crime just because they have power.
In the case of John and Rudy keeping the secret of Dorian's human memories, I have no doubt that Dorian would have found out. He would have been very angry at John and Rudy. His trust in his partner will be tested of course. Dorian feels like a real human so yes he would question John's loyalty or faith in him. Dorian would even point out that there are times when John didn't treat Dorian as a real partner.
John's new leg would have been fun to play around with. I was thinking that Maldonado would have stuck a device in there that let her check on John once in a while. It's clear that Maldonado is very concerned about John's mental health. She had asked Dorian to keep an eye on him.
I think we would have done a flash back or two about Dorian before he was decommissioned. We know John's story but we don't fully know Dorian's story.
If Kevin Reilly had his way then we would be anticipating Season 2 rather than muse about what might have been. I still hold out hope that one day all of our questions will be answered in a movie.
