The 100: The Ark vs The 100

After the cancellations (mostly Sci-fi shows suffered) The 100 seemed to come out of the massacre all right. The show wasn't given an extension of 22 episodes but I'm satisfied with 13 since The 100 was renewed for a season 2. That being said, The 100 has left us wondering about what's going to happen when the parents catch up with the surviving 100.

"Hooray Ooooh That turned ugly real quick."

Once the 100 hit the ground they had to build up their own society and also survive. They were dropped in a new wild, strange Earth so completely transformed that it was like being on an alien planet. These kids had to deal with toxic fog, killer giant river fish, hostile locals, and most of all each other. It was a trial and error period where the 100 had to rely on themselves. They've built a community centered around their two elected leaders Bellamy and Clarke. Well they weren't really elected they were just the strongest personalities of the group. But eventually Clarke and Bellamy became a sort of team and the 100 rallied around them. So when it appeared that Bellamy was a goner, one of the 100 practically dragged Clarke into the drop ship. They couldn't risk losing another leader. The kids stopped being kids that day.

Let's face it, Murphy had that hanging coming

So what does that mean for Abby and Kane? Well the adults are well adults and we all know how adults can be. Age has always been important in that the older you are the better you think you know (a total myth by the way) but experience can age someone quite rapidly and the 100 have gained quite a lot of experience. They had to fight for their lives, they had to train as an army, they had a go at politics (which went badly), they've killed people, they had to deal with death that they're lives are short, etc. The 100 had to live on their own and have kind of grown to like their independence however terrifying it is and they won't like being told what to do. I see some power struggles in the future.

Ark, we have a problem...

"FLOAT HIM!" Shit just got real...

Truthfully I think when Clarke sees her that her mom's alive it's going to drudge up some old feelings of resentment. Clarke still blames Abby for her father's death and while Clarke thought her mother was dead and regretted not forgiving her but wouldn't we all feel like that? Then to see Abby alive? Those old hurt feelings of betrayal may come back with a vengeance. Then Kane is going to have some conflicts with Clarke in terms of leadership of the 100. The 100 were branded as criminals and tossed out of the Ark like garbage. You gotta understand that these kids are going to feel resentment as well for being used like guinea pigs; like they were expendable. So whatever Kane suggests they do, the 100 are going to be looking to Clarke first. And I have some mind to think that Clarke may have some struggle given she's so stubborn but I think she'll make a call if it's for the good of her people.

Roger roger Bellamy out

Kane and Abby have still a way to go to find the 100 who are being held up in the Mountain base, Weatherby by soldiers and scientists. Just another challenge of survival for the 100 to add to their list of what makes them adults.

We just set this place on fire
