Save Almost Human

FOX left us quite a mess!

After weeks of positive news on a second season, FOX has decided to leak the news instead of actually say that they have decided to cancel the show! This news was a huge surprise even to reliable insiders who have been saying that Almost Human was out of the bubble.

Okay start from the beginning: WTF?

It really is confounding how FOX preferred to leak the information instead of actually coming out and saying what their decision was. I guess they figured there would be a huge fall out with fans and they were right. Twitter blew up with Almost Human trending and fans quickly tweeted #SaveAlmostHuman from 8-9pm and will continue to tweet at the same time every day. That being said, Almost Human does have options.

How can you say no to 2 handsome faces!

One option is taking the show to another network. SyFy is an idea although I don't know if they'll actually take it given their own lean towards reality shows like Face Off. Still it wouldn't hurt to ask. Then there's ABC Network or even NBC, although NBC has been dealing with Revolution costs so maybe they won't take it. But don't lose hope!

This is a crime scene that needs fixing

With the option of going on another network, Warner Brothers would have to wait until FOX decides to give back the rights to the show to Warner Brothers or just let the contract run out, which really sucks because every month longer is less of a chance to keep the cast together. Once a show is cancelled the cast members start looking for other acting jobs. Also Joel Wyman is working on another project so he may not be able to work on the series. I still think FOX should quickly give back the rights to Warner Brothers. It's the decent thing to do after this total slap in the face of fans.

See if we can diffuse the other bomb FOX dropped on us

I understand FOX's leak tactic. I also understand their qualms about spending so much money on science fiction shows. But I really think they have too high of standards. They spent a lot of money on advertising and even during the Olympics, which is the worst time for any show to air, the numbers were steady. Also FOX has to stop relying solely on males 18-49. Women out number men in a lot of things and the show really appealed to the female audience. FOX expected too much. Numbers were decent and the fandom was passionate. They would have had more viewers if they had not decided to cancel the show.

Tweet #SaveAlmostHuman

My problem with FOX is that it's mostly a sports and news channel. That's how it made its money, which is why I think if they want more viewers they have to take some risks. I don't see the point in picking up a series if you're just going to drop it half way through. It would be in FOX's best interest to reconsider their decision and renew Almost Human at least for 1 more season to tie everything up. There are so many mysteries in that show that have gone unanswered and it's unfair of FOX to leave us hanging.
