The Librarians: Rotten Apples with Good Intentions

Daddy's home, minions!

I need to start downloading these episodes they really do light up my week. Numbers for The Librarians have risen. All the other shows are on a winter break and won't be back until 2015 so it's nice to see a new episode of a new show every week instead of watching re-runs. Anyway... Dragons, magic apples, and earth quakes! Just another day at the Library's Annex. This week's episode was one of the best I'd say. Everyone was ready for battle while Zeke was characteristically ducking behind the table but guess who came through the back door? Flynn Carson is back!

How about some Jasmine tea to calm your nerves...

Hello, Flynn! It's been a while. I thought having our main Librarian back would be stealing the spot light away from our current ones but not at all. Noah Wyle is the type of actor who likes to share the spot light letting each character have their moment. It just added to some hilarious, side splitting fun especially since our "pearl of wisdom" turned out to be a "rotten apple"; the Apple of Discord. The Apple of Discord brings out the worst in people and as the fruit was passed around we got to see our heroes at their worst. Cassandra is really REALLY scary when she's at her worst. I kinda like it. Lamia was no match. I just want to point out that Cassandra is kinda part robot so confusing her with the whole numbers in Pi was clever. Flynn was the best when he was at his worst. "Out Minions! Daddy's home!" I was rolling over in hysterics and he was in evil-mode long enough to tell some mystical creatures what's what.

Cassandra is no Pussy Galore. She'd be a Bond Villain

Duloc is turning out to be quite a villain. The worst part was that he stole Zeke's pizza! Instead of using brute force, Duloc decided to use dirty politics. I thought he would win for a minute but Zeke and Jenkins working together outsmarted the SOB. And for Lamia it was just not a good day. She kept getting her ass whooped by our heroes once they went dark side. Still don't like Jake getting flushed whenever he and Lamia are in the same room BUT he didn't have to hold Cassandra for as long as he did so that makes me happy. I dub their ship name to be #Cake! Cute, simple, and fun just like them!

My pizza! You really are evil!

I think this episode for Zeke was a deeper look into his character. For a few people some expected Zeke to walk out at some point or steal some artifact and use it for selfish reasons but he really came through for the Library, surprising even the judgmental Jenkins. Zeke may seem like he doesn't care but he never backs down from a fight. He even inspired Jenkins who was about to run out when things were getting tough. Surprising that Zeke was the only one who could touch the Apple without turning evil especially since through out the entire episode the gang kept saying they couldn't let him touch it. Zeke apparently is already his worst self so we can all breathe a sigh of relief. As for Jenkins I feel we have more questions than answers at this point. We have a lot of immortals connected with the Library and it seems Duloc and Jenkins like Jensen have been around for as long as the Library has.

Jenkins looks worried... or maybe that's just his face

As usual I loved the magic, the places, and the knowledge learned that comes with The Librarian franchise. Classic! Could barely tweet the story was so engrossing. Dragons under The Vatican while Western Dragons are symbols of Satan? Joke's on you Christians! Love it! I can't wait for next week's episode. The team has progressed so much even impressing Flynn who leaves the Annex in Barrett's capable hands after she decided to make her transfer permanent. Counting down the days until next Sunday!

The Annex has a doorbell?

The Librarians: How They Saved Christmas!

Santa knows my name!
Happy Holidays! Deck the book shelves and get ready for some surprising guest stars! For The Librarians Christmas almost didn't come. This episode was a lot of fun and very informative. Something for the whole family to watch.

I'm feeling the magic here... where's the mistletoe?

The chemistry between the cast has improved. I feel they finally found a rhythm after that Labyrinth adventure. Very funny and cute but in a good way. Zeke was especially hilarious given that he had to act way out of his comfort zone of selfishness and instead be very nice, jolly, and showing good will. Cassandra and Jake had a rough patch at the end of last week's episode but they seemed to have gotten over that for a while to team up in London. Jake even complimented her... I think. I don't speak Brit as well as Jake can.

When Santa stops referring to himself in a 3rd person
you know something's wrong!

Comedian Jim Jeffries and actor Bruce Campbell just upped the hilarity level. Jeffries's role was small but he still had me in stitches as he wore his Santa costume. Bruce Campbell as Santa Claus referring to himself in a 3rd person? Priceless! The best part was that he wasn't just Santa but all of his other incarnations. Here's where the informative stuff comes in. I had no idea that Odin was technically the first form of Santa Claus.

The Christmas Brigade

Barrett was a Scrooge, not unlike her entire personality but spending time with Santa and the goofy yet lovable geek squad her armor is coming undone a little. When we first see Barrett's apartment it was very spacious, empty which implied her detached nature. She's been all over the world but hasn't seen much good will towards men even on Christmas making her cynical about the whole idea. However, when she was needed, Eve Barrett stepped up to spread some good will all over the world at the magic hour. There was this moment where she came face to face with herself helping two separate people? Trippy!

Odin smash!

Duloc may be a villain but he still puts me in a few giggles especially when he was scared that Jake was going to break his priceless artifacts and when he had the hat on. Okay how incompetent is Lamia that she didn't see that her boss wasn't acting like himself when he sent her away in Santa's Sleigh? Can't find good henchmen these days. And Jake should stop crushing on Lamia right now! Yeah I saw that look he had when she flirted with him. Now Duloc basically "killed" himself but if you ask Jenkins it'll take a lot to kill Duloc so I'm guessing our Serpent Head has been around as long as Jensen. It's a mystery...

It would really make me happy if we didn't crash and die

All around a good episode. The Librarians is shaping up to be a show for the whole family and you don't get many of those anymore. Have a Happy Holidays! Next episode Flynn returns but hopefully he doesn't outshine the junior librarians in training this time.

Dominion & Supernatural: Which Gabriel is the Best?

Even the way they like to sit; all casual and stuff

Both Supernatural and Dominion have given angels a new twist; portraying them as more human with flaws, weaknesses, and interesting personalities. But the best angel that's been represented in both programs is the Archangel Gabriel. Both are mischief makers with some degree of ruthlessness and both have the best lines that make us laugh and forget all the bad stuff they do (sort of). So which one is the best?

So who wants to play doctor with an Archangel?

Let's start with similarities. Some minor details: they love to party; wine, women, and song with a sweet tooth. Both Archangels have a sadistic sense of humor but it's usually to teach a lesson (sometimes brutal either verbally or physically). Mind games are their thing. I think it's because they have big egos and think they know best; their way is the right way. They have a sympathetic quality about them that makes it hard to hate them entirely. Deep down they're very insecure. Another huge thing they have in common is they both have severe issues with Daddy. Gabriel of Supernatural just chose to runaway while Gabriel of Dominion seeks to bring Daddy home. More on that later. Now for the differences.

Well this Gabriel went out in a blaze of glory

Gabriel of Supernatural has a love for humanity. He agrees that they aren't perfect but he still admires them for how they fight for each other even when winning seems impossible. Even before we discovered that he was an Archangel, Gabriel only punished people he believed deserved it. We can't help but admire that. Especially since he has a funny, outrageous way of dealing out justice.

All the ladies love Gabriel.

He talks a big game but Gabriel here prefers the flight to fight response. He certainly had a way of finding an exit when things got too heated. As for Daddy, Gabriel gave up on hoping for God to come back and sort all of this chaos out. He also couldn't bear the sight of his brothers fighting each other so instead of choosing sides this Archangel decided to go into hiding and wait for the fighting to be over. But he redeemed himself at least in Sam and Dean's eyes by holding off Lucifer so they could escape and giving them the key to defeating the Devil.

I'll say this: Both Gabriels know how to party

Gabriel of Dominion has zero love for humanity. He used to protect them especially against his blood thirsty brother, Michael but some where down the line Gabriel snapped and went on his own human killing spree. And it was all so Daddy would maybe come home. Gabriel of Dominion has all the signs of a serial killer to be honest; using empathy to create a human following so he could use them for his own ends. He played on William's desire for a father figure to help him keep tabs on Alex to keep two steps ahead of Michael. Then without a word, Gabriel abandoned William. He hung him out to dry because he had outlived his usefulness since Alex was the only person he wanted. No need for his spies in Vega now.

Gabriel is an avenging angel

And then there are the 8-balls. As Michael said before, Gabriel uses them as cannon-fodder to further his own ends. He even murdered a few higher angels to rile up his brother. This Gabriel has no problem with killing anyone as long as he gets his way in the end. But we know that Gabriel has some degree of love for his Archangel siblings. He was very upset (and then murderous) when Furiad almost killed Michael. At the end of Season 1 Gabriel ended up winning... this time. Of course we know that Uriel is going to poke some holes in Gabriel's inflated ego once she puts her plan into motion.

Okay I chose wrong so what's in the other hand?

So a few big differences between our two Gabriels. Gabriel of Supernatural is more well adjusted in comparison. And clearly Gabriel of Dominion is the bad guy. Neither guy you want to be on the wrong side of though. Still hard for me to pick which one is the best Archangel Gabriel. They're both so great and played by terrific actors who have put their own spin on the Archangel's character; making us feel all sorts of feelings from dislike to like and loathing to loving. I'll let you guys debate further.

Gabriel was Loki before it was cool

The 100: Finn's Goodbye

Looks like we're saying good bye to Finn

Although Finn killed 18 people it was still sad to watch him go. But we all knew that was going to happen. There was no way out of it. The whole episode centered on how Clarke and her people were going to form a truce with the Grounders so they can take Mount Weather. I was kinda okay with this because this was a big, intense moment. We have to see both sides of this. Finn was looking for Clarke, he didn't have to kill people but the Grounders' first impression was that they don't show mercy. On the other hand, those 18 people weren't warriors and didn't deserved to get gunned down.

She wants Finn's head on a platter

The theme of this show is survival and what we are willing to do to stay alive. Finn's actions was a huge moral issue. It seems like the "right" thing to do is to give Finn over to the Grounders to be executed. But we knew Finn was trying to find Clarke and was terrified that she was dead. The Grounders have done the exact same thing when the 100 first landed. They didn't even bother with verbal communication, just brutality. So some hypocrisy. The 18 Finn killed were innocent but so were the 100. I think it was that Finn seemed like such a nice guy; a moral compass that we judged him harshly, which was why Clarke and Raven were desperate to save Finn's life.

Stop making promises you can't keep, Clarke

I was a little surprised that Raven was willing to give Murphey up. That's cold! And I thought they had a moment in the drop ship. She seemed more desperate than Clarke. We see through flash backs that Finn was trying to be a great boyfriend which only blew up in his face. I'm sensing a pattern... Finn going to killer lengths for the women he loves. I actually felt bad for Murphey getting played. Me! Feeling bad for Murphey! What an idea. Anyway, Raven's actions you could say were driven by guilt as well as love. It was thanks to Finn that she's alive.

Being Chancellor sucks

I thought we were in for a gruesome execution but Clarke did Finn a favor and instead of using that blade on the Commander, Clarke used it on Finn as a mercy kill. To be honest killing the Commander would have been suicide and Finn would have died anyway. Raven didn't really think that through. At least the Commander was satisfied. It looked like some of the Grounders were going to kill Clarke too but what mattered was that Finn died for what he did. Clarke didn't want to lose Finn but we learned from Season 1 that she has the guts to make the hard choices. But Raven won't see it that way. I expect next episode Raven will be spiraling.

Alright that's enough you're getting a time out!

The Librarians: The Labyrinth

Yay team work!

The Librarians premiere I felt centered mostly on Flynn and the old cast so I would like to think of this episode as the real Pilot. This episode, the new team of Librarians got to shine, stretch out and test their wings.

Now that we've sacrificed another intern, lunch?

The hilarity was spot on. The characters have that going for them. The overall silliness mixed with the sarcasm and the adventure made it hard for me to tweet. I was too zoned in to what was happening to tear my eyes away from the screen.

Love the street art

As usual the depth the producers went into exploring mythology was very creative and surprising. What drew me to The Librarian franchise was the magic and mythology and how the producers applied it to the story. The Minotaur and the Labyrinth for me was a great start. What better way to exercise your brain than with a magical maze that stretches through different dimensions? Cassandra applied math to the situation though that made my brain hurt; then again she has a brain grape (great line by the way) in her head so imagine how her brain feels.

We broke the globe

The chemistry between the new cast was...interesting. Not bad but still some rough edges that need smoothing out. You know these guys have what it takes to work like a well oiled machine. Though there still seems to be some trust issues within the group. Mainly between Jake and Cassandra. Okay Cassandra betrayed the team but she has a tumor that's ready to go off and kill her so yeah anyone in her position would have done what she did. I feel Cassandra redeemed herself a little when she chose to save Flynn. Zeke showed compassion for Cassandra at least. Jake seems to have trust issues to begin with. He's going to be a tough nut to crack. I still ship Cassandra and Jake though. I think by season's end they'll come together in an unexpected way.

Hey you got the back door working

Still some growing pains to work through but I'm getting a better feel for the cast and how they're trying to keep the integrity of the franchise to the pleasure of fans but also trying to make it their own at the same time. Next episode is crucial.

Arrow Mid-Season Finale: Will Death Finally Take Oliver?

Is this also a muscle contest?

A lot to love about the mid season finale of Arrow. It left on quite a shocking yet juicy cliffhanger. Let's talk about the major points that stood out and made the episode fantastic!

Worst...Father...Ever!

       Honor Thy Father?

It was shocking to discover that it was Thea Queen who dealt Sarah the death blow. But you know what wasn't surprising? That Malcolm Merlin was behind the whole plot. Seriously Malcolm should be sterilized immediately he shouldn't be a father. I hate that Thea calls him "dad" but it was nice to hear her refer to Arthur Queen as dad when Oliver came to visit her on his good bye rounds. You know Thea's going to find out and all hell will break loose. Hopefully she sticks a sword in dear old dad once and for all.

Come on it's your last day alive! One passionate kiss for the road!

       Olicity: "I love you."

Wait... What?! You say that and just walk away? No passionate good bye kiss??? I can't believe Oliver chooses a moment where he may never come back to only leave Felicity hanging. He could have at least made it a kiss on the lips like in the season premiere where they broke up before they even started! I do hope one thing, when Oliver comes back Felicity runs into his arms and they finally come together as a couple. I don't like Felicity with Palmer although it's funny how she keeps attracting handsome millionaires who like to lead crusades on crime.

Truth time!

        Laurel finally tells ONE Parent

Laurel has been an absolute mess of late. She's been hiding the fact that Sarah is dead from her dad because she doesn't want him to have a heart attack. At least her mother has stronger instincts. Still waiting for Lance Sr. to find out. The last scene between mother and daughter is chilling. They want Sarah's killer to suffer but it was Thea who killed her and she wasn't aware of what she was doing so what will they do when they find out?

I think he missed the heart...I think...
        Is this the end???

I was absolutely shocked! No doubt about it when Ras put the sword straight through Oliver my mind went blank. Speechless! I thought at least the duel would be more intense but then again Oliver is dealing with a cold stone killer who's been dealing out "justice" since puberty. Also so much happened already. The focus of the episode was Oliver's heart felt good byes to all his friends and family and I loved that.

Bruce Wayne, Oliver Queen, and now Ray Palmer?
Do all millionaires like to play dress up & fight crime?

We were left with quite a big cliff hanger. I do know that if they kill off Oliver Arrow is essentially dead but that doesn't mean he's going to come back any time soon. There was a promo where we see someone coming to collect Oliver's body. Probably his old friend whom he met in China. He did say he didn't want to watch Oliver die so he'll probably be secretly nursing our green hero back to health. In the mean time Arsenal, Diggle, Felicity, and Laurel will be keeping Starling City safe.

Reign Mid Season Finale: Vengeance is Mine!

Can I ship Louis and Mary?

Whoa! Damn! So many one syllable words to describe Reign's mid season finale! Francis and Mary's relationship is going through quite a few trials by fire and Catherine is having hallucinations of her dead twins and... Henry? Let's discuss some highlights.

"I have something to tell you. You won't like it but... I like Twilight"

            Confessions

Quite a few confessions made this episode. First Mary opens up to her ladies about what really happened that night. It's not easy to tell people about something so traumatic as rape but Mary refuses to let this experience make her a victim. It was a moving scene. Mary still doesn't want to be touched though. She'll get there.

Look mother and son match!

Now it's confession time, Francis. Unfortunately it came too late: "I killed my dad and was being black mailed by that guy who's son you killed." Francis was so shaken and fractured that he seems to be turning into his crazy father after all. He's punishing the Protestants severely. Even Catherine was questioning this move. But Francis is trying hard to make it up to Mary, being supportive in his own way. I think he felt if he found Mary's rapist then she would be okay and things could go back to the way they were. Wrong.

Mary is packing Renaissance heat!

Louis of Condé, can we appreciate how handsome and chivalrous he is? We were wondering what was in that letter he wrote to Mary and we thought that when someone killed the messenger that the message never got to her. However... a maid servant found it and it told Mary what he truly felt about her. "I've fallen in love with a queen." Looks like the player Louis had his heart stolen by Mary. Once again there's a love triangle and it feels so good to have one again!

Let's burn this mother f*&%$# down!

          Revenge Burn!

"You're not even armed-- Good Lord!" ~ Louis

Mary has a posse now

Hmmmm Louis and Mary seem to be a more effective team. Louis helps Mary track down her attackers but doesn't find out the truth about Mary's rape until they come face to face with the son of a bitch. Why is it all religious freaks think God will reward them for committing sins that He said were wrong? I don't know but what I do know is that Mary fulfilled a revenge fantasy I bet every girl has only thought about if they could come face to face with their rapist. Mary burned the whole place down along with those foolish jackasses who thought they could disgrace a queen and escape unscathed.

Francis got them crazy eyes!

Pleasure in revenge aside, it was a sort of moment of clarity for Mary. It's impossible for things to go back to the way they were. She feels Francis is to blame. Sounds irrational but it's not irrational if you think of it from Mary's point of view. But Francis is determined to save their marriage.

The only reason why Narcisse was beaten was because Francis is
king so it would be treason to beat his ass. He let him win

           Find Narcisse in a haystack

Trying to find Narcisse in a haystack? Can I play? Of course if I was rolling in the hay with Narcisse it would have been much more pleasant (and sexy) but Francis really gave the old lord a beating. If you thought just because Narcisse felt that this uprising was his fault and would leave it at that you'd be wrong. Narcisse always plans ahead. If he dies then everything he owns will go to the Protestants. Isn't he fickle? Well Francis decided to put Narcisse in chains in a dungeon. Shame on you, Francis! I know I shouldn't be on Narcisse's side but Francis brought this on himself. I won't say that killing his father was wrong because well... Henry was nuts. Still Francis had people who could have helped him. So Francis is going to take his frustration out on Narcisse by taking everything he has and then when the king is done with him he'll kill Narcisse in his sleep. Damn! The world has turned upside down!

So um is Catherine...doing this herself?

          Catherine Slips Further into Darkness

Claude is an annoying daughter but you can't just
kill her

Catherine is losing it! Madness must run in the family. Catherine is having visions of her twin girls that Claude apparently murdered when she was 5... needless to say that family definitely could use some therapy big time. So the twins want Claude gone but all that does is make Claude dig her heels in further. She doesn't want to go anywhere but creepy Mary Kate and Ashley were adamant that their sister should take the big sleep. I didn't think Catherine would go so far as to poison her own child but I wouldn't taste that soup. We're not sure Claude is dead, yet if she will be at all but we know Cat well enough that she doesn't fool around with poisons. Then who was sleeping in her bed? Why it's Henry! So Catherine slips further into insanity with her dead husband and twins.

"Francis likes Twilight? Where did we go wrong?"

      My last wish is...

I honestly stopped caring for Leith and Greer's drama but I thought it was nice of Leith to use his favor from the king to set Castleroy free. Castleroy will be taking some vacation time but Greer is staying behind so I suppose the Leith/Greer ship will be back on again. Good Lord...

How will I be able to wait until January???

How will I survive until January? What will happen to Narcisse and Lola? What about Mary and Condé? Oh! And let's not forget Louis's sneaky yet very handsome brother King Antoine of Navarre has paid us a visit and seeks to destroy his cousin Francis. Ain't family grand? Maybe it's not so good to be king after all.

The Originals: Let's Talk About Haylijah!

Every girl wants to be Hayley right now

Anyone else still need an ice cube? After a season and a half of "will-they-might-they-kisses" Elijah and Hayley finally expressed their desires for each other. And may I just say I still feel the burn from that fire Haylijah started.

Can you help me zip up?

I would say "Poor Jackson" but I'm a Haylijah fan and besides, one last sexy romp before taking your vows isn't bad. Since Hayley is only marrying Jackson to unify her people, sleeping with the guy she's already in love with isn't necessarily cheating. True Jackson has been committed to Hayley before he even knew her. Unlike some other werewolves who have scorned Hayley's vampire side, Jackson never treated her any differently so at least he's a good guy. At least since Jackson is mortal he'll grow old and die then Hayley will be untethered. Although you have to wonder, changing at will isn't Hayley's only unique gift. She's also immortal. Will that also be conferred onto the werewolves? It would create a whole new breed of werewolves who could live forever! That would be bad news for Elijah.

I think Hayley still has a fever & Elijah caught it

The important thing is Elijah finally took the leap. He may be a noble self sacrificing guy who's a borderline martyr but it's nice to know that he's finally taking more risks with his heart. I suppose Hayley's attitudes about getting her desires has rubbed off on him (you know what I mean! Get your filthy minds out of the gutter!).

One more Elijah pic. *SWOON*
