She's sexy and she knows it |
If you've seen Legion you'll remember that 8-balls were your basic monster with nasty teeth, black soulless eyes, a creepy voice, and something extra disturbing: they could change their body, twisting and bending any way they need. I'm probably not the first to squirm a bit every time they see an 8-ball scaling a wall like a spider. But some of the 8-balls seem to be capable of much more now: they have wings! Why is that?
She hasn't been to a dentist in 25 years |
We know that when an 8-ball moves in it's next to impossible to get rid of them. Evictions have had a very low success rate, even lower when you count the fact that the human host dies shortly afterwards. But after Clementine we began to question the actual nature of an 8-ball possession. It looked like the 8-ball was in control but was sharing housing, which led to an identity crisis, especially when Claire was around. It appears that an 8-ball can snuff out the original soul of its host if it wanted or prolonged possession would just cause the human soul to fade away giving the 8-ball complete control of the body.
You can't hide from the Archangel |
In Heaven, Michael explained that all of the angels were aware of each other but on Earth they can only see as far as physically as any human and telling a higher angel apart from a human is near to impossible. So what I draw from that is though the higher angels were given physical bodies in Heaven they were all in spirit form, multi-dimensional and the Dogs of Heaven though spirits had some form with wings. But when passing to Earth the lower angels were nothing but air; intangible, unable to interact with the physical plain. Now that the 8-balls have completely taken control of their human hosts they can manifest their angel forms on a more physical level. How's that for evolution!
When I said I needed a new hood ornament I meant a small metal grey hound or something |
The only difference between the 8-balls and higher angels now is physical appearance. We haven't gotten much into the whole 8-balls evolving during season 1 but maybe we'll learn a bit more during season 2.
