The Originals: They're Back!

Eat, Drink, and be Wary

WOW! Is all I have to say about The Originals season 2 premiere. New faces, new twists, and new heart breaks that left me tearful. Although the viewing numbers between TVD and TO differ with TO lagging behind I feel that TO is a much better show because there isn't teenage drama (except for newly teenage witch Esther and Davina).

Tell me a story, Aunt Rebekah

 Rebekah's Lullaby:

Hope is such an adorable baby! Rebekah tells baby Hope a magical fairytale about a King in a faraway land. Hey what about Klaus's Wolf Queen, Hayley? Why wasn't she in the story? Maybe next time. It was a sweet opening. We want to see more of Claire Holt with the precious Mikaelson Baby.

Don't mess with the she-wolf

  Wolf Mama's on the Prowl:

Hayley is having an identity crisis. After having to send her baby away, our wolf mama is thirsty for one thing: the blood of her enemies. Phoebe Tonkin is top notch as our favorite broody brunette. She spreads the picture of her character even further by acting out Hayley's anger, frustration and mourning the loss of her daughter. You would think that Hayley would confide in her baby daddy but Klaus and Hayley are very similar in temperament where they prefer to mourn and vent alone. But we love to see Hayley kick some major ass. Those wolves were sheep to the slaughter except for Ollie that Benedict Arnold that Hayley just let go. Come on! At least cut off his hand! Unfortunately Hayley's identity crisis has come between her and Elijah. I was so sad! Hayley felt she finally found where she belonged; finding the "purity" of being a werewolf but this vampire side in her feels alien to her, more like a scar. I'm a big Haylijah fan so I hope they find their way back to each other. In the mean time it could be Elijah is back on the market, ladies of New Orleans!

Klaus is having a dry spell it happens

  The Brothers Bite Back:

Speaking of Elijah, have I mentioned how hot it is whenever he joins a brawl. The way he wiped that smug smile off of Francesca's smug face as he just stepped into her house (which through his influence with the Historical Society was now public space). Daniel Gillies has really grown into his character developing a suave air about him but also that deep down he's a tortured soul. And Klaus has gotten some of his mojo back as well. We love seeing Joseph Morgan play Klaus and he's made the Hybrid more sympathetic as Klaus realizes his greed and envy cost him his daughter who is now living far away with Auntie Bex. Don't worry, Klaus, Rebekah says nothing but nice things about you. At the start of the Pilot Klaus was so frustrated that he couldn't even paint. He hates sitting still lacking Elijah's patience. But by the end as Klaus promised he began to paint again using the blood of his enemies as his paint. Love these two! And whoa! Kol and Finn are back! But in different bodies. What's Esther got planned?

Hi I'm Davina and you are a handsome, dark stranger

  What a Witch:

Davina and Esther are currently two of the most powerful witches in The French Quarter and both have dangerous agendas. Danielle Campbell is so adorable she's like a cute little doll. She's got Davina nailed down from the innocence to the teenage angst. Davina has Mikael on a leash and plans to let him loose on Klaus but not before severing her friends from Klaus's bloodline so that when he dies they don't. Personally I think Davina is in way over her head with this one. I understand her feelings towards Klaus but Mikael is a much worst monster with no hope of redemption. At least Klaus made it his mission to be a better father to Hope while Mikael is a murdering beast. Davina has more in common with the Hybrid than she thinks given they both come from broken homes in a way (abandoned and abused by their parents). Monsters are made not born, Davina.

Going through puberty a second time can't be fun

I'm not sure but I think Esther's plan is to kill her remaining fanged children then put them in human bodies. She's already got Finn and Kol back. Speaking of being in disguise, Kol pretends to be Kaleb, a new cute warlock for Davina to drool over. I'm sure we'll see Nathaniel Buzolic again in a flash back. Julie Plec promises we may hate Kol after what we see him do to some Louisiana witches. Meanwhile Esther is biding her time waiting patiently until she feels it's right to reveal herself.

There's my chocolate warrior

    Marcel is Looking for Warriors:

Marcel is chilling on the docks and answering booty calls with the spunky blond bar tender. Leah Pipes and Charles Michael Davis have a sparkling chemistry but I don't see a roaring fire. Don't see a real romance there but yes continue with the hot casual sex, please! Cami said she had to break it off with Marcel but we know that once you enter the supernatural world there's no getting out as Finn disguises himself as Cami's new educational advisor. It could be that Esther wants to find out what that secret weapon is Kieran hid that could be the end of the supernatural creatures of New Orleans.

Josh needs a romance.

Poor Josh. No where to go really so he's helping Marcel grow his army but Josh doesn't understand Marcel's pickiness. Marcel is looking for warriors but in this day and age they're hard to come by. But Marcel may have found at least one more recruit. A rocker chick that Josh had his money on. Marcel should pay up cause this new girl was the last person he expected to see. I assume her name is Gia because there was synopsis for a future episode where Elijah reluctantly teams up with a newly made vampire named Gia. Hmmm let's see if Gia light a fire in Elijah where Hayley doused it.

We have a war to fight, Little Wolf

  We're A Family:

I was so glad that Hayley and Klaus finally came together to grieve. They may not be romantically involved but they do share a child together whom they both love so for the most part they are partners in this war. It was sweet of Elijah to push these two broken souls together. He sees that only Klaus can truly understand Hayley's pain even though he may have lost her forever. Hope that's not true!

He gave Elijah the finger so Elijah broke it off

  What to expect this season?

Definitely expecting some jaw dropping, adrenaline rushed moments this season. I'm loving The Originals more and more over The Vampire Diaries which let's face it has gotten way too "teen drama". TO has a slightly sharper edge and a lot more darkness for us.
