A quick Q&A if you will... |
Season 1 opened up a lot of questions. Now that Dominion was renewed for a season 2 AND given 13 episodes there are so many possibilities to be explored by the producers and writers. The creators have so much more room to make this hit show even more intense and exciting as the Dominion fandom grows world wide.
Couple of questions and thoughts behind them that I have:
Her work can't collect dust |
1. Vega's brilliant Dr. Becca Thorne is gone but will anyone take her place to continue her research on angels?
Thoughts: It would be interesting to see someone continue Becca's work. I doubt Claire would just let those experiments sit there collecting dust or that Becca didn't have a close assistant who wasn't interested in proceeding to see what more they can learn about the higher angels' anatomy to exploit more weaknesses.
Come to the dark side we have cookies |
2. Will Alex explore his dark side under Gabriel's teachings or keep his compassion and integrity in tack?
Thoughts: Everyone has a dark side. It's nice to test a hero's limits just to see where the line is for them. Michael was like Yoda but Gabriel is more like Darth Vador even down to the black leather. It was Michael's good influence that helped keep Alex on the right track despite their constant head butting. I can only imagine that Alex could be just as resistant to Gabriel's lessons and question him at every turn but I see that it could have disastrous results for Alex's character.
3. Did Uriel help build Helena? Is that where she's been for the last 25 years?
Thoughts: Someone else asked this on Twitter. Vaun Wilmont didn't specify but he hints that they do get deeper into that story line. Me? I think it's extremely possible. Uriel does want peace between humans and angels but she thinks her brothers are standing in the way of that peace with their war.
Who was Charlie's baby daddy? |
4. Do we get a deeper look into Alex's family tree like who his biological father was or is if he's still alive?
Thoughts: No one could replace Jeep but one of this show's theme is the father-son relationship (or father-child relationship because girls have daddy issues too). From the film Legion Charlie didn't seem to know who Alex's father was or she did but he ditched her. Who Alex's biological father could be why Alex is so special and why he was born to be the Chosen One. I think it would be a very intense, dramatic meeting for Alex to meet this stranger with whom he shares DNA with and if he would be open to having this person in his life or in Alex's child's life since that would mean Alex's daddy is a grandpa now.
Not even Dr. Phil could handle this screwed up father/son relationship |
5. Will David be able to put the pieces back together again and be close to what he once was?
Thoughts: Now that William's been exiled, David is left without a master. No one to bite at his heels. William basically broke his father into being a much less assertive person. Without his son's influence I'm curious as to wonder if David will be able to repair the damage William had done to his self esteem.
"So what are you thinking about?" "..............." |
Thoughts: After his little murder spree, Michael has some serious soul searching to do. He had a bit of an identity crisis and is going to have to re-assess his place in this world. I can only imagine that Michael will be wandering the desert and meet some people along the way either angels or humans or both.
Damn cryptic tattoos have done it again! |
7. We've heard prophets mentioned but will we ever meet one?
Thoughts: It seems weird not to have prophets when you're telling a story about God and angels. They're like the cherry on top of that banana split. Prophets are essentially the mouth pieces of God but being that God is missing that shouldn't mean prophets have lost their mojo. Prophets are oracles who are gifted with foresight and see what others don't. Prophets and angels also have a weird connection so maybe there are a few prophets wandering the desert with some caravans and act as "angel-radar". It would be cool to meet at least one prophet. Heed the teachings of the Prophet Brian!
Who is this man??? |
8. Will we meet Raphael?
Thoughts: We've met the three of the four Archangel siblings. What's the Archangel of healing been doing all this time? Lounging on a beach having orgies and drinking Bahama Mamas? Or has he been looking for God? I think he's the one who healed Michael. There was also a deleted scene where Michael was sitting on a cliff looking over the ocean, crying and the same black glove that healed him was on Michael's shoulder. It could be him but who knows?
William isn't opposed to re-breaking some punk's ribs |
9. What's next for William?
Thoughts: I feel like William has little options at this point. His wife ordered him executed but David helped him escape. He could go to New Delphi. If he ran into Riesen that would be awkward. Or he could go to Helena and if Uriel and Arika manage to spirit Claire away there then that would be even more awkward. Claire would probably try to kill William herself.
The ladies love a musician... |
10. Any love interests for Gabriel?
Thoughts: Hey even psychotic angels with daddy issues need love too. Uriel has a girlfriend, Michael had a girlfriend that he killed but did Gabriel have anyone? It would be cool if Gabriel fancied a human. I say that because all dictators have a hypocritical quality about them: Voldemort hated muggles although his father was one and Hitler was part Jewish. It's contradictions like that that can drive a character to make serious changes or at least challenge them. Or perhaps Gabriel was in love with a higher angel. We know the angels like to mess around with each other.
Red Bull gives you wings!!!! |
11. Last question, any chance we meet fallen angels or even Nefilim?
Thoughts: There was a Fall in angel legend. Many angels fell from Heaven because they took human brides and had monstrous children called the Nefilim. Michael mentioned them once in passing in the Pilot and he was downright terrified that he could father a monster. But also fallen angels should still be immortal and may bear the scars from when they were cast out of heaven. Wingless and in exile there could be some fallen angels out there just trying to survive.
So those are just a few questions I have. I feel like season 2 is going to be more epic than season 1 with more shocking twists and turns to keep us on our toes.
