So much for the mood meteor |
A lot happened this episode! Alan meets Vera's new family and they stop a horseman as well as welcome a new member to their team and family. Though it wasn't without its close calls.
So any tunes you wanna listen to? |
This can't be the first time you've been cuffed to something, Koa |
Highway to Hell
Koa spends some quality time with Satan and Pestilence. Of course instead of getting her money back she wound up hand cuffed to a radiator and almost dying from a roach bomb. I did like Koa's scenes with them though. It's interesting for someone who's done mostly bad to have a casual conversation with the Devil but then to turn around and have another more honest, heartfelt discussion about loss even if it was for a tiny moment. It was a very humanizing moment for Koa. Luckily Raul, Erin, and Peter came to her rescue. By the way: How about mom's corpse? Norman Bates anyone?
Hey, wanna play Doctor with the Devil? |
Koa's feeling really guilty now |
But back to the rescuing. Don't get why Raul decided to go in and un-cuff Koa when Peter is the one with super strength. Next time lead with the Hulk especially when you don't have a key. Though Erin's gift has been taking a toll on her, she decided without a second thought to save Koa's life. Of course this caused Erin to be rushed to the ER. Koa's never had anyone risk their life for her before so we see her heart isn't so icy after all as she joins the team as they search for the Horseman. In the end even Raul gives Koa his approval! Koa is no longer a lone wolf but is part of a pack.
You can't die! It's always the cute girls who go first! |
We found the internet! |
Rage Against the Machine
Rose and Vera are very much alike (as Rose mentioned before), which is why they argued so much in this episode. Rose may be the one who brought them together but she's not necessarily in charge. She was dead set against Vera bringing in Alan on this. However, I feel Alan has proven to be nothing but useful to the team. Without him Rose and Vera would be extra crispy (as they thought unplugging a room of computer generators would be simple). Not only did Alan's knowledge of tech helped them but his naughty side helped more! Apparently Alan was quite the mischief maker as he spent a week in detention for setting off the school sprinklers with a lighter and a flammable spray can. Thanks to Alan, the Messengers managed to rain on Pestilence's parade. Take that Rose! At least she apologized by offering him a dance.
Really sorry I slept with your dad and that the baby's his... We cool right? |
Wow you make the Devil look like a stand up guy |
Love and Other Drugs
Joshua couldn't join the hunt for the Horseman because his pregnant wife came driving up (on the curb no less) wanting to get away from his abusive father. As we've suspected the baby is Josh's baby brother but an interesting fact: Joshua met his wife, Charlotte in rehab or a support group. It's not really wise to fall in love with your sober buddy but even with that tiny detail we learned so much about Joshua and his dark past.
The Devil comes in many forms |
Honor thy Father my ass! |
So Joshua (already having let go of his anger at Charlotte earlier) decided to help her. Love how he stood up to his dad! Joshua was an abused child standing up to his bully and that's inspiring. Because he stood up to him, Joshua had the pleasure of seeing his dad go to jail (well I took pleasure in it; Joshua looked somewhat livid). Joshua thinks he doesn't have much of anything anymore. He had this connection to God but stopping the Apocalypse kind of broke that connection. But Josh does have something! He reconnected with his estranged sister, he's getting a baby brother (okay that part still stings a little), and made up with his wife. Interesting cliff hanger with Joshua holding the pills he took from Charlotte. (Side note: Would love to get that song that played at the end of the episode during that scene. Love it!)
We got an angel and a devil literally telling you what to do |
Oh hell no! Hands off the necklace! |
You, Me, and the Devil Makes Three...
The Man made more appearances this episode. The Messengers were making him nervous. He even tried to fracture them even more by sending Joshua's dad after Charlotte but even that back fired. So the Devil made one last attempt to try and negotiate with Rose. As much as I would have loved to play doctor with the Man (don't think that came out right...) it was a pleasure to see Rose tell him off. It's rare we see Satan lose his cool. He even destroyed Vera's awesome mood meteor! Alas the most useful and beautiful accessory is no more. So Satan was beaten but for how long? While the Messengers have their victory party, Leland was set free and we know by whom.
You're in for many future games of Solitaire |
Just ask her out, Peter. |
Tiny Highlights
Peter and Nadia are the cutest couple! It was very nice of Nadia to find Peter's birth records. It was marginalized this episode but in the end Peter gave us an "Awww" moment when he said he didn't need to know where he came from because he has new family now. And now apparently Raul and Erin are an official couple. Yay! Wish the CW would uncancel The Messengers so we could explore that relationship more like how Ronnie would mess this up (because we know he will) or how they're both on the run from the law.
Hello, Step-Daddy who's not crazy like real Daddy |
Raise your glass like those ratings rose after only a few weeks |
They won the battle but the war isn't over. The Devil is determined to burn the world down. The only question is will The Messengers be able to face what else The Man has in his arsenal? Despite cancelation the ratings have sky rocketed. Either The CW will reconsider (doubtful) or another network will want the show (somewhat likely). I don't want to give false hope but anything can happen. So keep watching and keep those ratings up!
That isn't ominous at all... |
