Game of Thrones: Rhaegar's Abduction of Lyanna Stark Theories

        I've been thinking a lot about the story about Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. Some say Rhaegar abducted and raped her, others that he was unhappy with his wife, that if he married someone other than Elia Martell that Rhaegar would have never looked Lyanna's way. But I'm going to give Prince Rhaegar a psychological profile (based on the events I've read or heard about leading up to Robert's Rebellion) to help assert my theory: Rhaegar and Lyanna were in love and trying to fulfill a prophecy...

Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, the Last Dragon

         If I could sum up the character of Rhaegar Targaryen it would be: brooding musician and prophecy enthusiast. 

         Rhaegar has been described as kind, clever, loved by the common people, but there was always a sadness surrounding him and he was a very private person. He was born during the tragedy at Summerhall, a Targaryen palace that was consumed by flames. As a child, the prince loved to read. One day he comes across a book containing a prophecy about a "prince that was promised." A prince that would be born from the blood of Aerys and Rhaella. The next day Rhaegar goes to the knights and says "It seems I must be a warrior." One can only assume that Rhaegar Targaryen believed he was that Promised Prince. Why else would he decide to start training to become one of the greatest warriors in Westeros? The prince preferred art to the ways of war. Reportedly Rhaegar abhorred violence but he had a sense of duty that made him overcome that abhorrence because he may have to fight some great evil and you can't throw books at it. However, eventually Rhaegar figures he isn't the Promised Prince. Not sure when or why he starts thinking that but he does.

       Aerys II, Rhaegar's father, starts showing signs of madness driving a wedge between father and son. The Targaryens were few now. Only two Targaryen Sons with no sister to marry. Aerys sends Steffon Baratheon (a Targaryen cousin) to Essos to look for a bride for Rhaegar of pure, noble Valyrian blood but Steffon never found one (Valyrian blood is very much present in Essos but no one is marrying their sibling so the lines are not pure). Rhaegar was left with marrying the princess Elia Martell of Dorne. Elia was beautiful, soft spoken but kind and clever. By all accounts Elia and Rhaegar were a happy couple. There's no report in all their years of marriage of any wedge or strife that would suggest an unhappy union. Before Lyanna there was no sign or report of Rhaegar ever cheating on Elia. Even before Rhaegar wasn't much of a womanizer. I think Rhaegar confided in Elia about the prophecy he read as a child, which set his course. Elia was in delicate health. After their first child, Rhaenys, Elia was bedridden for a year. After Aegon (who was born after the Tourney at Harrenhal I think...) she almost died and the maesters said Elia would never be able to have more children. But Rhaegar needed three heads for the dragon.

       Rhaegar exchanged ravens with Maester Aemon saying that he believed his son Aegon was the "Prince that was Promised". In Dany's vision (in the books) at the House of the Undying she sees a man with silver hair and indigo eyes (suggesting Rhaegar) who said "The dragon must have 3 heads." Rhaegar named his first 2 children after the first Targaryens to conquer Westeros 300 years ago. I'm sure Rhaegar was expecting another girl if Elia had been able to produce another baby (I say this because of some R+L=D theories which I won't get into now). So what is Rhaegar to do? Elia was probably in on the abduction. It seems to me she and Rhaegar were very close. He may not have been in love with her but they had a bond so it's not unreasonable to think that maybe she even encouraged Rhaegar to abduct Lyanna and make her his second wife so he could have that fated third child. Elia is from Dorne. That place is very liberal when it comes to sexuality. Why Oberyn would think Elia would be offended still doesn't make sense to me. Then again he is her brother but we really didn't get Elia's reaction to Rhaegar giving Lyanna the crown of winter roses. "All smiles died" suggesting that she was surprised but I'm sure Rhaegar explained it to her later.

        As for Lyanna Stark's psychological profile I would say she was a typical rebellious teenager. She was wild, strong, fierce, some would even say she had wolf-blood in her. She was beautiful sure but Rhaegar saw underneath that unlike Robert Baratheon who was obsessed with her. No one really knows why Rhaegar presented Lyanna with the Crown of Love and Beauty. Some say he was trying to win the North over but it seems unlikely. It just doesn't seem like something Rhaegar would do to try and win over a lord of the North, family known for its high value on honor. A married man that appears to be flirting with your 16 year old daughter doesn't sound like a smart way to gain his favor. There are better more discreet ways for a prince to gain Lord Stark's support. So this leads to the theory that Lyanna may have been the mysterious Knight of the Laughing Tree that unhorsed 3 knights then disappeared (read about the event on a wikia page). Rhaegar could have discovered that Lyanna was the Knight and the crown was his way of giving her due honor for her victory. Either way it was an important enough of an event for Lyanna that she kept the crown. When Ned found her Lyanna was holding dead black, blue rose petals suggesting she held onto her prize.

        As to the abduction Lyanna and Rhaegar could have exchanged letters becoming friends or at the Tourney they had some conversation about her engagement. An engagement she wasn't thrilled about. But if they exchanged letters someone would have noted on either side about how many letters Lyanna was sending via ravens. A maester at least would have noticed. Robert was in love with Lyanna's beauty more than he was in love with her. It was nice to have someone see that she had the heart of a warrior and not just a pretty face. Especially if it was a prince saying this to her. Lyanna was a teenage girl and teenage girls aren't known for making sound decisions. If you were a girl and a handsome prince came up to you saying how the 2 of you were part of some prophecy you would fall into his arms wouldn't you? I would!

        But why would Lyanna choose Rhaegar? A married man when she had reservations about marrying Robert, a serial womanizer? Well if you were a teenage girl who met a handsome prince who told you that you were both meant to fulfill a prophecy wouldn't you go? Of course because you're a teenage girl and teenage girls aren't known for making logical decisions because of hormones!

          Rhaegar never cheated on Elia. If she was able to give him a third child for the third dragon head then I doubt this plan would have happened. Rhaegar took Lyanna who may not have been expecting the abduction and once he took her to the Tower of Joy explaining why it's likely that Lyanna agreed to the whole thing. It's extremely possible that Rhaegar married Lyanna (making any child born of this union legitimate heirs). Targaryens had practiced polygamy before and if Rhaegar wanted another dragon head he would need for the child to be legitimate so he/she could help complete the dragon trinity. Now it's around this time I think Rhaegar fell in love with Lyanna. Before it was perhaps he just liked her for her courage and ferocity but after getting to know her he developed romantic feelings as Lyanna had for him. Lyanna soon after got pregnant and Rhaegar saw the prophecy finally coming to fruition.

      So yes I believe the most likely of theories is that Rhaegar and Lyanna were in love and ran away together. What Rhaegar didn't count on was his insane father murdering his new beloved's father and older brother kick starting a rebellion. He certainly didn't imagine Robert would kill him on the battlefield. At the Tower of Joy, Ser Arthur Dayne (Rhaegar's closest friend) and a few other knights guarded the pregnant Lyanna. It's more than likely Rhaegar confided in Ser Arthur about the prophecy and the few other knights there which is why they were dead set on protecting the place. They had no way of knowing if Ned would harm the baby or not so of course they would defend the stronghold with their lives even after Rhaegar's death. 

Why couldn't it have been Robert that died?!

       This is just all speculation but I believe human behavior is important to notice when creating theories. Rhaegar didn't abduct Lyanna out of lust or because he was unhappy in his marriage. He more likely abducted her to help him fulfill a prophecy to help stop the end of the world!

Grimm Season 5 Finale: Let's Discuss

        That last part was... wow! The whole episode was great though I did have some criticisms but mostly about Reynard. Anyway, stuff I want to talk about:

Children shouldn't play with voodoo dolls

1. Diana's Voodoo Powers

          Is she a good witch or a bad witch? Who's to say at this point. Diana is just a normal little girl but with super powers and what child doesn't want their mom and dad to be together? But luckily Diana has ONE parent who knows what's going on with her child. I can't believe how naive Reynard is about his daughter. Maybe he's just being a doting father, we do know he has some compassion in him given how he chose to be a cop instead of the more powerful position of a politician. More on that later though. Reynard only starts to see that his daughter isn't so innocent when she kills his mistress. Though it's still scary at what Diana is capable of. Will she kill Nick if she thinks he's going to come between her parents? Hard to say since she seemed very fond of Nick's mother and loved that locket with his picture in it. As long as Adalind is there to keep Diana in check I think Nick will be alright... for now.

2. Juliette's... Back?

          After having her magical seizure from the healing powers of the miracle wand (I'm calling it a wand by the way) Eve seemed to disappear as all of her bottled emotions came back. There was too much going on for Nick to actually process this but it will come up in season 6 you can bet. Though I feel like we've been building to that anyway. Ever since Eve began interacting with Nick, old feelings were probably coming back. There were some glimpses of Juliette's jealousy for sure. First with threatening Adalind if she ever hurt Nick, telling Nick to be wary of Adalind since as a hexenbeist she can't be trusted, etc. Trubel and Rosalee absolutely saw those moments of jealousy and given how last season she tried to kill Adalind along with Nick's unborn baby then kidnapping Diana after leading Kelly into a trap costing her her life and then trying to kill Nick... well we all are wary of hexenbeist Juliette. Seriously though when Juliette and Nick were together I thought her character pretty bland but the minute she became a hexenbeist bitch she became interesting. I actually don't want her to die yet. The love triangle between Adalind, Nick, and Juliette continues.

        But would Juliette coming back really threaten Adalind and Nick's relationship? Hard to say. Nick and Juliette do have a history but I feel like they weren't on the same path. It was clear that Nick was ready to settle down and start a family but Juliette had her misgivings. Granted it was because he was lying and that's not a great way to start a marriage but I feel like they were destined for other things. Where as surprisingly Adalind and Nick share a deeper connection. Not just their son but the Wesen world too. Nick learned more about Adalind and vice versa and they just seemed to click. If there's one thing you can say about Adalind is that she will go the distance for those she loves. First with Reynard when she was helping him (though she went the extra mile in trying to harm his Grimm cop) but then she gained some self respect after Diana was born and she became a very devoted mother. So far Adalind is the only one who said "I love you" to Nick and she hasn't pressed him if he felt the same way because she doesn't want to force him into anything. But I feel like Nick has similar feelings for her he just hasn't said it out loud. David Guintoli says Nick understands why Adalind left with Kelly (their son) and will forgive her. I believe that.

3. Reynard 

         Reynard has really devolved from season 1. First he was this bad ass guy who knew everything to a puppet (first with his daughter then with Bonaparte). I understand that he wants power but I would think he would be more Machiavellian about who he was working with. Black Claw is just shady. It may be that because Reynard isn't a full blown Zauberbeist (probably not spelling that right) he's not completely consumed by ambition. We do know he has some compassion in him. Out of all the professions Reynard could have chosen he chose law enforcement. He even mercy killed Meisner (though I think Bonaparte burned an asset given how amazing Meisner was at getting the job done). He wants to help the community BUT that siren call to power is just all too alluring. I do find it an absolute joke that he thinks Adalind is just going to forget about Nick and be with him. Maybe he has a faulty memory but he didn't treat Adalind very well. He kind of blew it when he gave Diana away. I honestly don't see him wooing Adalind... without Diana's voodoo dolls anyway. So yes, right now Reynard wants power and given that he's the new mayor he'll have plenty of it.

4. Guess who's expecting!

         It's finally happening! Monroe and Rosalee are having a baby. I feel like we were leading up to it this season after we saw Monroe and Rosalee setting up Kelly's crib. "Maybe someday," Rosalee said. Well someday is HERE! I kinda want it to be a girl so she and Kelly can grow up together and fall in love and... well that's for fan fiction writers to play with.

5. Black Claw is no more

      In an interview with David Guintoli (Nick Burkhart), when asked about if Black Claw was done he said, "Oh he killed like 33 of their guys they're done." I feel like I have to agree. With the miracle wand Nick seems unbeatable and luckily Reynard and Black Claw have no idea of it's existence. And only one branch of Hadrian's Wall was destroyed so the organization still stands. Without it's crucial leaders Black Claw will flounder, scatter, and disappear. But then who will be the next big bad in season 6? Given how there will only be 13 episodes we may know sooner instead of having to wait 22 episodes to get to the big battle.

      Can't wait for next season. Still shipping Adalind and Nick despite others' misgivings. Very excited for the Monrosalee Baby! 

The Flash: Season 2 Finale

Run, Barry, RUN

         Quite an episode! Very shocking season 2 finale. I didn’t cry when I saw who was under the mask (the real Jay Garrick who is Henry’s doppelgänger) but my heart still break all the

same. But let’s break down on why Barry decided to change the past and how that’s going to effect next season.

I feel like this race should be on pay-per-view!

       First off, Barry witnessed the horror of watching his father die. Zoom is perhaps the most evil speedster so far. The Reverse Flash is a stalker playground bully compared to this psychopath! The Flash always has that emotional heart that lacks in other super hero shows. Though I’m going to be honest and say I saw Henry’s death coming. It was the best way to break Barry, hitting him straight through the heart. Zoom kept trying to compare himself to Barry but that’s how it is with most super heroes and their villains: 2 sides of the same coin but Barry has a surrogate family that gives him a lot of emotional support. That’s the source of Barry’s strength: his family. After going through the Speed Force Barry came out more hopeful and sure of the future but he never counted on losing another parent. I suppose his only consolation over losing his mother was that his father was still alive. Joe was a great surrogate parent but he’s not Barry’s real dad. Though it still shocked me when Barry took a trip back in time to save his mother. It’s probably the first selfish thing he’s ever done with his powers. This action will definitely have major repercussions.

Team Flash vs Team... well just Zoom

     What will those repercussions be? I know it’s hard to admit but bad things do happen for a reason. Sometimes the darkest road leads you to meet new people, make new connections, form bonds, even start families. You may have suffered a loss of a spouse but after a mourning period you meet someone new and have children. If your spouse never died you may never have become a proud parent (maybe your first spouse didn’t want children or you never really talked about it). If Henry never went to prison then Barry would never have gotten so close to Iris and Joe. He became a forensic scientist because of his mother’s murder. He may never get struck by lightning. He may never even become the Flash! Nora’s death is a fixed point in Time. It’s a turning point that helped shape Barry’s course in life on his way to becoming The Flash. And anyway I feel it’s pointless.

        Barry and Oliver are very similar but with very key differences. Oliver watched his own father commit suicide. He watched his mother be murdered but their deaths were to save him so Oliver was able to harden himself and move on. Barry suffered loss but never witnesses something so traumatic as Zoom and Oliver as your parents’ dying in front of you. In Barry’s case he’s more of a victim than anything though. Before he even became a hero Barry was a target. His enemies took his parents because of their jealousy and spite. Barry said, “Everyone else gets to cheat why can’t I?” Barry has such a big heart that he bruises and feels loss more deeply than anyone on the show so it was completely understandable when he decided that maybe just this once he could bend the rules (not counting when he went back in time and Time Wraiths went after him).

     Though I understand why Barry did what he did, I can’t help but feel he chose wrong. As much as it hurts Nora’s death served a purpose. How many lives has Barry saved because of the path Nora’s death set him on? How many will die if he doesn’t become the Flash? The Particle Accelerator may still go off but it’s uncertain if Barry will still be The Flash. I think if Time wants Nora to die then she’ll die. I feel that Barry will understand that his actions will have terrible consequences or maybe just mild repercussions? I don’t know I just know stomp on a butterfly and the whole building comes crashing down.

There's no show without him

            Haven't heard anything on a renewal yet BUT that doesn't mean there won't be one. In my opinion the MARVEL people have already planned their movie releases over the next few years and have expressed enthusiasm for the show tying into those story lines as the big events effect the show's events in some cases. In the mean time, Daisy has had a vision that someone from the team will die. But who?

You can't kill off the Cavalry

I just don't see her dying

      Immediately I'm ruling out Coulson because that would be a cheat to kill him off. Then I'm going to rule out May and Daisy. It's not just they're the only Asians of the cast but because I feel like they're still very important characters. These 2 women have a close connection to Coulson. While that would affect Coulson deeply if Daisy or May (his surrogate daughter and right hand) were to die I don't feel like their deaths would lead to anything more than that. 

You can't keep writing off every guy who isn't white

      One possibility is Mack though I don't know if he's going to die. Still since we've seen that scene in a space ship orbiting Earth I've been having a bad feeling. For one thing there's that golden cross Elena wears around her neck. She and Mack have gotten close though right now they've hit a bump in the road. They could make up and Elena could give Mack her gold cross as a gift to help protect him since she's a religious person who believes that carrying around a holy symbol would protect him. But it's also possible that Elena is the one who dies it being her necklace and all. Then there's Joe but I don't think he's going to die. I don't feel like his death would cause any great impact. Which leads me to Lincoln.

Lincoln is a tempting possibility for the reaper

        Daisy is very unlucky in love so it would make sense if Lincoln died. It would just be another death that she would blame herself for given what happened to Trip. While that sounds sadistic as a writer as well as masochistic for the character herself it would fit with the theme where at any moment a person you love would die saving you or that for some reason being a super hero means you have to fight fate every day to get some form of a happy ending with a person you love. But perhaps I'm too cynical...

We just got her back so not sure it'll be her...

       Now we've come to my real theory. I think either Fitz or Simmons are going to bite the big one. Losing one of our gifted geniuses would affect the team on a very deep level and I feel like it would help move the story for our characters. Also Fitz said they were cursed. I don't think it's just them that's cursed but as I've said before super heroes lose loved ones especially romantic ones all the time. Now we just got Jemma back so maybe it's Fitz who dies. He may sacrifice himself to Jemma's life but also Fitz had proven to be a fierce friend so he'd be ready to sacrifice his life for any one of his time. Remember when he protected Daisy when she first became an Inhuman. He never saw her as a monster once and then when he was trying to find Jemma Fitz put himself in danger countless times. He refuses to give up on his friends. 

I would hate to lose Fitz!

        My money is on Fitz or Simmons dying. Maybe one of them goes up in space with Mack, Elena, and some other members for some reason that could help destroy Hive somehow. We won't know until we see the episode!

TVD: Calaric, Is It A Thing?

              I'm probably one of the many fans of TVD who are a bit weirded out by Alaric and Caroline being a couple. Though the more I think about it the more it makes sense (right now that is).

        Yes, it's kinda creepy. Alaric was Caroline's high school History Teacher. Then he was her college professor. These two haven't spent much time together throughout those 6 years but then Caroline became Alaric's surrogate. They seemed to really come together not just as friends but as partners in a way. It honestly didn't feel weird for me to see them going to birthing classes and hosting the baby shower. Then there was that spark when they felt the babies kick and Alaric was amazed how Caroline could tell them apart. She's not the twins' real mother but she filled the role so naturally. Alaric could have just left with the twins but he allowed Caroline to come along; 1 reason is because no one says "no" to Caroline and the other reason is he I feel like he had gotten used to her being around helping him prepare for parenthood. 

       Now that Alaric and Caroline began spent more time together I don't find it unbelievable that he fell in love with her. It's hard not to fall for Caroline as she has a way of moving her way into your life that you feel like the sun doesn't shine when she's not around. As a human Caroline was a pest but as a vampire she became a much more supportive, nurturing and loyal friend. Alaric didn't want to raise his children around vampires but he somehow made an exception for Caroline. She cares about the twins as much as he does because she got the chance to carry them and give birth which she most likely won't ever experience again as a vampire. And for 3 years they had perfect lives without violence or anything supernatural screwing things up. But has Caroline fallen for Alaric?

        Alaric explained that he proposed to Caroline because he fell in love with her and Caroline said yes because it made sense for the girls. They're essentially a family now and all they needed was a ring to make it official. We know that even if Stefan somehow became available again Caroline wouldn't abandon her surrogate daughters and by extension Alaric. We saw how she reacted when she found out that Alaric was moving to Dallas, Texas. Caroline grew to think of the babies as her own. Then there was that moment when Alaric named one of the babies Elizabeth after Caroline's mother. There's now a special bond between Alaric and Caroline, an intimacy that only 2 people who share a child can understand (like Klaus and Hayley). I don't see Caroline leaving her new family until the girls are all grown up or Alaric dies (though you never know...). 

        Yeah it's weird because of the age difference (of the characters) and Calaric will have to move around a lot every 10 years or so to keep people from figuring out Alaric's wife is immortal. There will certainly be deriding whispers as Alaric ages while his wife is forever young (trapped in the body of a 16 year old... yeah just tell people they're mormons or something) but if it makes you feel any better Alaric has terrible luck when it comes to marriage. His first wife left him to become a vampire and his second died on the altar. I hope third times' a charm but Klaroline and Steroline fans can hold on to such thoughts if they wish (especially since there's some hint from producers that their engagement might end). All I'm saying is that Alaric with Caroline makes the most sense right now given they have children together and they seem to work well together as a couple and as parents. What I love about this show is that you can pretty much match anyone together because the whole cast has such chemistry which to me is kinda rare. Enjoy Calaric while it lasts.

OUAT: Zelena & Hades: The Anti-Couple But the Sanest People Ever

          There really is someone out there for everyone. Even the Wicked Witch can get a guy, albeit he's the King of the Underworld but it was nice to see all the same.

       I will say that even though Zelena is the most psychotic of our villains you have to admit that ironically she's probably the most rational woman of the cast. She's the first to not immediately jump into this true love stuff. True Regina, Snow White, and Emma took a while to really open their hearts and let another person in but Zelena is the most independent woman of them all. She really doesn't need anyone to help her achieve power or take care of business. 

Hopefully Baby Green Bean takes after daddy

         Another thing I thought I was the only one who thought it was pretty crazy our heroes just left their infants back home to go on a rescue trip to hell. Remember earlier in the season when Snow White & Charming took their infant son to Camelot? Yeah they were on the fence about letting the dwarves come along but they're okay with bringing their teenage grandson and 2 children under the age of 7 on this dangerous trip? Even I was tempted to call child services on our heroes. Zelena points out this fact when they're tracking down her baby in the Underworld. Robin Hood's all about setting an example but dude wait until she's walking and talking and thinking for herself before you start leading by example. And you got to admire a little that she refers to her daughter as "our" instead of "my". She acknowledges that Robin's the dad but nevertheless she would rather raise the baby on her own. You also have to admire Zelena as a devoted mother. She may be a Wicked Witch but she loves her baby. So much that she gave her up even if it meant she would never see her again just to protect her. 

Talk about hot heads

       Then there's Hades. The King of the Underworld is cursed with a stopped heart that makes him unfeeling and also very lonely. Only the kiss of True Love (that kiss solves almost every problem I've noticed) will his heart restart and become a fully formed man again. He may be a vindictive, cold blooded deity but when it comes to love he goes all in. Creepy yeah he's kind of stalker-ish the minute Zelena makes him feel a wiggle in his special place (his heart) he's ready to give up on revenge against his brother, Zeus and share a life with her. That's kinda sweet actually.

Funny I didn't know Hades ever learned to ride a bike

       Unlike Rumple who holds onto power with an iron fist when it keeps costing him his loved ones, Hades is a kind of selfless guy when it comes to love. Even after Zelena rejects him he still holds a torch for her. He modeled the Underworld after Storybrooke to please her as well as try and "save" her baby from our heroes. At first Zelena thought he was going to use her daughter to create the time travel spell but truthfully he gave up on revenge against his brother Zeus a long time ago. Hades is completely in awe of Zelena for her fierce independence. Yet this time instead of an outright "no" Zelena gave Hades a "no... maybe... I don't know." So she's wavering a bit but she still prefers to get her daughter back her own way. Hades is cool with that. 

Even the King of the Underworld has a heart

       So Hades and Zelena may be an Anti-Couple but if you think about it they're the most rational people out of our heroes and villains. They shouldn't be raising a baby in the underworld but when it comes to relationships they'll probably be the sturdiest couple. Both are very independent people and Hades is willing to wait for Zelena until she's ready to be with him instead of using that "we're meant to be together it's true love" line we keep hearing. It may be a cold day in hell  before Zelena really lets her walls come down and let go of her personal insecurities but I feel like Hades is wearing her down.

        Just when things between Nick and Adalind were going so well, Adalind's inner beist reappears. Adalind and Nick have come a long way. A very long way but they managed to take their relationship to the next level. So it kinda makes sense that Adalind's Hexenbeist would rear it's ugly head to test the new sort of couple out.

    Ways this can go wrong

            Adalind is terrified like Juliette was when she beisted out though Adalind has been a hexenbeist since birth. Nevertheless, Adalind may lie to Nick for a while believing that if he found out then they would take quite a few steps back in their blossoming relationship. She may revert to old habits, most of the time without even realizing. She may even become so paranoid that she either leaves Nick or Kelly to find another cure or just takes Kelly afraid Nick would take their son away from her. 

It feels so weird but also so right somehow!

     Ways this can work out

              Though Adalind was a total bitch in the beginning, the minute she gave birth to Diana she's been a dedicated mom. Also now she had better influences on her life so perhaps she'll be more honest with Nick this time around. If you think about it Nick would be the first good boyfriend she's ever had (I'm guessing since Reynard wasn't that great... yeah he was a dick). This may prompt her to try and make it work by being honest right off the bat. 

One very unorthodox family that Fate has

        I never expected to like Adalind and Nick as a couple more than Nick and Juliette. So weird but I got used it and Nick deserves a bit of a happy home with a family; even though Juliette's "gone" Nick is still able to have that. The reason is I think it's what both Adalind and Nick really want: a loving home and family which unexpectedly made this work better than anyone thought it would. Who knows maybe Nick really has fallen in love with Adalind but doesn't see it yet and he'll try and help her tame her inner beist. (Like maybe go on a hexenbeist killing spree or something or would the Grimm blood thing still work?)
